1. Introduction

Your privacy is important to us. Countdown - Day Counter Widget ("the App") was designed with privacy as a fundamental principle. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data in compliance with EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR).

In short: Your event and countdown data stays on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or sell any personal information.

3. Data Collected and Purposes

Countdown - Day Counter Widget allows you to create and manage countdowns for your events, including:

  • Event names and descriptions
  • Event dates
  • Categories and custom background images
  • Reminder and notification settings
  • App preferences (theme, sorting, etc.)

No Remote Collection

We do not collect any data. All data you enter in the app remains exclusively on your device or, if you enable iCloud sync, in your personal iCloud account.

The app does NOT collect:

  • Personal identification data
  • Email addresses
  • Location information
  • Usage data or analytics
  • Device identifiers
  • Payment information

Processing Purposes

The data you enter in the app is used exclusively to:

  • Allow you to create and view your countdowns
  • Display widgets on the Home Screen
  • Send you notifications and reminders for your events

Legal Basis

The processing of your data is based on your consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR), which you provide by using the app and voluntarily entering your data. Processing occurs exclusively on your device, without any transmission to third parties.

4. Where Your Data Is Stored

Data you enter in Countdown - Day Counter Widget is stored in two possible locations:

On Your Device

All data is saved locally on your iPhone or iPad using CoreData, Apple's secure storage system. The data is protected by device encryption and accessible only when the device is unlocked.

In Your iCloud (Optional)

If you have enabled iCloud sync on your device, data is synced to your personal iCloud account to allow you to access it from other Apple devices.

Important: We do not have our own servers. We cannot access your data in any way, whether local or on iCloud.

5. iCloud Sync

If you choose to use iCloud sync:

  • Your data is transferred to Apple servers via encrypted connection
  • Apple manages this data according to their own Privacy Policy
  • Only you can access your data through your Apple ID
  • You can disable sync at any time from iOS Settings

To manage or delete data synced to iCloud:

  1. Go to Settings on your device
  2. Tap your name at the top
  3. Select iCloud
  4. Find Countdown in the app list
  5. Disable sync or manage storage

6. Third-Party Services

Countdown - Day Counter Widget does not use third-party services that collect data:

  • No analytics services (Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.)
  • No crash reporting services
  • No advertising services
  • No tracking SDKs
  • No social network integrations
The app works completely offline and does not require an Internet connection for its main features.

7. Data Retention Period

Your data is retained on your device until:

  • You manually delete it from the app
  • You uninstall the app from your device
  • You delete data from iCloud (if sync is enabled)

Since there are no remote servers, we do not retain any copy of your data.

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

In accordance with GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Right of Access and Rectification

You can view and modify any data directly from the app at any time.

Right to Erasure

You can delete individual events from the app or all data by uninstalling the application. For iCloud data, follow the instructions in the previous section.

Right to Data Portability

Your data is stored locally on your device and you can manage it directly.

Right to Lodge a Complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. In Italy, this is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

9. Children

Countdown - Day Counter Widget is suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Since we do not collect any data, there is no risk of inadvertent collection of children's data.

If you are a parent or guardian, we recommend supervising device usage through Apple's Parental Controls features.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with the new effective date.

We encourage you to check this page periodically for any updates. Continued use of the app after posting changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.

In case of significant changes, we will notify you through a notification in the app or other appropriate means.
